Asseri Lehtiniemi is Our new Investment Manager

Asseri Lehtiniemi started as Investment Manager at Business Finland Venture Capital in November 2021.
What are your new tasks & responsibilities?
I will be responsible for managing the current portfolio, portfolio reporting, and deal flow screening alongside with sourcing. My tasks also include carrying out due diligence, as well as preparation and execution of new fund investments.
What are your previous jobs, what have you been doing before joining BFVC?
Before joining Business Finland Venture Capital I worked at Business Finland Startup Funding unit as Financial Advisor focusing on financial and business analyses, M&A advisory and loan amendment related issues. Prior to that I spent two years in corporate finance boutique Prudentus Capital. At Prudentus I was focused on capital raising on both equity and debt side for Northern European SME’s as well as acting as a strategic financial advisor. In addition to that I have worked at United Bankers as a Sales Trader. My role included trading and execution of listed equity, bond, derivative, and ETF transactions and producing market analyses for clients. My previous work history has given me deep understanding of capital markets, different financial instruments and corporate finance. I hold a M.Sc. In Finance and Accounting from University of Turku.
Please tell something extra about yourself. What are your hobbies? How do you spend your free time?
Originally I come from Lappajärvi, a small town of 3000 people, located in the Southern Ostrobothnia. I moved to Helsinki over 6 years ago and I’m currently living in Kallio with my girlfriend and our 10 month old daughter. I actually had the honor to just celebrate my first ever Father’s day! In my spare-time I love to do sports; Crossfit, golf, and running, just to name a few. When I’m not on the move, I can be found either from home cooking, reading investing books and exploring the stock market. To a desert island I would take a Naples-style pizza with me, in addition to my family of course.
I find the BFVC’s role as developer and diversifier of the Finnish venture capital market as truly inspiring. Joining the professional BFVC team feels great and the welcome has been extremely warm. Awesome to be back at the office after working from home for 18 months!
